Modern prefab could be studio, office, guest house, cabin, or hideaway, This modern cottage is the latest demonstration prefab homes and modern cottage from San Francisco’s Modern Cabana.
This Prefab modern cottage is built in panels off-site and assembled in a couple of days at Sunset, the cottages are designed to create more living space that's both eco-friendly and affordable (as low as $12,000 for the 10x12 unit).
Modern Cabana's combined two and added a deck to showcase their flexibility. A 12x25 model is set up as a guest suite with a kitchenette and bath. Across a breezeway, a smaller 10x12 cabana serves as a home office.
Natural connection visually connected the two cabanas by installing a 9’ x 9’ willow panel created by The Willow Farm. The panel shades the outdoor dining space and offers textural contrast to the FSC-certified clear inland cedar siding from Natural Forest Distribution.
Sculptural plantings are used to create layers of interest to the modern cottages’ facade. Bella Vita Garden Design created the planting beds with art and design in mind. The varied succulents are a low-water landscape choice that creates a sculptural effect.
A vertical wall of succulents by Flora Grubb Gardens hangs at the front of the guest suite. Get a closer look at that next.
The prefab cottage guest suite decorated with a simple palette, clean lines, and eco-friendly materials. Benjamin Moore’s no-VOC Natura paint in Tequila Lime lights up a wall. Engineered bamboo flooring from Armstrong offers a good choice for eco flooring. (Pillows from Egg and Urban Mercantile.)
